And sing! And cut and paste! The current Leadership Tallahassee Class 28 spent its November “Our Creative Community” program day, learning about the Arts and Culture in Tallahassee. Program Day Chair, Marcía Porter(LT 25)and committee members Eluster Richardson (LT 25) and Dylan Rivers began the day with a panel discussion on the economic value of the arts in our community.
The Class boarded a charter bus to the Southeastern Regional Black Archives on the campus of FL A&M Univesity and then lunch and tour at the Brogan Museum. The group headed to FSU where they danced and sang and to FAMU where they made collages. Four separate community arts groups performed drama, opera, dance and chamber music and then the Class walked to Ruby Diamond for a sneak peak of its newly rebuilt performance space. The day ended with the class discussing their reaction to the day’s events and how the arts had an impact on them as community leaders.
