Guest Editor – Alexander Grant (YLT 11)

The Youth Leadership Tallahassee (YLT) program days were always something to look forward to at the beginning of each month during my junior year at Lincoln High School.  Whether it was presenting a business plan to a “Shark Tank” panel or meeting the mayor of our great city, YLT offered experiences that changed my outlook of Tallahassee.  My appreciation for this city grew as I met dozens of other young leaders from the different schools around town.  Sophomores should not miss out on the opportunity to apply because the skills, events, people, and overall encompassing experiences mold you into a better person.  Not only that, but the tools and values gained through the program are some that you cannot get anywhere else.  It is without a doubt that Youth Leadership Tallahassee is this city’s premier leadership program for high school students.

I would like to encourage each of you to reach out and encourage any high school sophomore you know to apply for Youth Leadership Tallahassee Class 13.  The friendships made, connections acquired and lessons learned have continually proven to be extremely valuable to me and the plans I have for my future.

The applications are available now and are due to each high school’s YLT contact on Friday, February 12, 2016.  You can find the application here: http://www.leadershiptallahassee.com/wp-content/uploads/YLT-13-Application-revised-12-10-15.pdf
