Guest Editor – R. Jai Gillum (LT 25)

As Leadership Tallahassee alumni, we can all attest to the personal, professional and communal impact the program has had on our lives. We dedicated a year of Thursdays to the program, and as alum, many have since given even more time, talent and resources to recreate the magic for those lucky enough to become contenders for the next “greatest class ever.” LT is a network of emerging & experienced leaders committed to improving the community, and one I am proud to be a part of.
I am excited to serve as Chair of Opportunity Tallahassee this year and work with a committee of awesome LT Alums who have volunteered to help coordinate one of LT’s premier programs. We have created an interactive day that will showcase and highlight our community. What many of us experienced throughout the year-long LT program, will be jam-packed into seven stops in nine hours on Thursday, October 27. We have built a schedule to highlight the diversity in each sector of our community and how we are collaborating to create a sense of unity. The curriculum focuses on history, culture, government, education, business, economic development and more in unique ways. Opportunity Tallahassee will give 36 people the chance to network and experience our community in a new way. After their day, we’re inviting all of our LT alumni to join us for a social at the Aloft Hotel downtown.
